Average progress scores

The new progress floor standard in Key Stage 2 is to be above -5 for Reading, above -7 for writing and above -5 for Maths.

Our results were:

Reading +3                  Writing -2.2                   Maths just below at -5.1

Average ‘scaled scores’ in reading and maths tests

Scaled scores replaced “levels” for the first time this year.

To meet government expectations, pupils must achieve 100 in their scaled scores.

Our results were:

Reading 101                Grammar, punctuation and spelling 100                   Maths 99

Percentage of pupils who achieved the expected standard or above in

reading, writing and maths

Just half of year 6 pupils met the new expected standard in their key stage 2 SATs tests in 2015-16.

The DfE has stressed this figure (53 per cent) is not comparable to the previous year – when 80 per cent of pupils met the standard – because of changes in the national curriculum and accountability framework.

Our results were:

Reading 65%               Writing 82%        Grammar, punctuation & spelling 59%            Maths 41%

Percentage of pupils who achieved a high level of attainment in

reading, writing and maths

Due to our disappointing maths results in general, none of our pupils last year achieved a high level in all 3 areas, but

Reading 18%               Writing 24%        Grammar, punctuation and spelling 6%           Maths 0%
